
Automobile major Tata Motors Group Monday reported an increase of six percent in its June global sales including healthy sales growth of Jaguar Land Rover brand. The overall sales in June stood at 94,055 units, an increase of six percent over June 2011. Jaguar Land Rover sales in the month under review zoomed by 39 percent at 28,215 units.While Land Rover sales grew by 49 percent at 24,386 units, Jaguar sales in June tumbled by five percent and stood at 3,829 units. Cumulative sales for the current fiscal grew by seven percent and stood at 276,524 units as compared to the corresponding period of 2011-12. According to the company, global sales of commercial vehicles including Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range grew by six percent at 47,896 units in the period under review. Passenger vehicle sales globally increased by seven percent at 46,159 units. Cumulative passenger vehicle sales for the current fiscal were up 12 percent at 145,592 units. However, on a stand-alone basis, global sales of Tata passenger vehicles were down by 21 percent at 17,944 units over June 2011. Cumulative sales for the fiscal were down eight percent at 62,140 units.
