The French media shed light on the visit of Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Paris and his meetings with French officials.
Radio France International said that Sisi met with French President François Hollande along with top officials to discuss boosting military cooperation.
It added that after 30 years of almost exclusive relations between the US and Egypt, Paris is determined to reactivate relations with Cairo and to participate in the modernization of the Egyptian army.
According to the Le Point newspaper, the economic and security files comes on top of the Egyptian president’s visit agenda.
The Le Monde newspaper said Egypt is back on the international scene, having played its traditional role as a mediator between Israel and the Palestinians in the Gaza war.
It also said the two leaders touched on the Libyan issue, as both countries fear that Libya, plagued with political divisions, would fall into the hands of jihadist groups.
President Sisi started a European tour on Monday, with Italy as his first destination, followed by the Vatican and France.
