Kuwait minister of information: Government keen on supporting cultural activities

Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hmoud Al-Sabah asserted here on Wednesday keenness of the political leadership to support cultural activities in general and support the creative energies of the Kuwaiti youth in various fields. Sheikh Salman said in a speech during a meeting with a group of university professors, intellectuals, writers and journalists participating in the activities of Kuwait, the guest of honor at the Cairo International Book Fair, that there is great interest in strengthening the cultural role of Kuwait through foreign participation. He pointed to a range of cultural projects that promote Kuwait's cultural role, chiefly the initiative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to establish Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Complex next to 'Al-Salam Palace', which houses a collection of halls and theaters that will host various global cultural and artistic activities, thus, reinforcing Kuwait's cultural role. He explained that the completion of this gigantic project, which is supervised by the Amiri Diwan, will be in record time estimated at a year and a half, in addition to Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center, which includes a range of cultural facilities, which will be allocated to support cultural activities and embrace all cultural and artistic innovations in Kuwait as well as the Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village.
