Iowa farmer Chris Soules proposed to fertility nurse Whitney Bischoff in the Season 19 finale of the reality competition series The Bachelor Monday night.
Asked by host Chris Harrison on the interview program The Bachelor: After the Final Rose how he feels to be engaged, Soules replied: "It feels great. Whitney is the perfect person for me and I am so excited to be here right now and for this to be able to come into real life. I am pumped."
The finale showed Soules deciding who he loves -- Bischoff or chiropractic assistant Becca Tilley. He ultimately chose Bischoff, who tearfully accepted his proposal.
"There's not much not to love about Becca and our relationship was real, and there were feelings that were borderline falling in love. I was falling in love with Becca," Soules admitted on After the Final Rose.
When Harrison said he thought Soules seemed as though he was looking for something he wasn't getting from Tilley, Soules agreed.
"Absolutely," Soules said. "Since I met Becca, there was always that catching up, like I was having serious feelings for her and she was like constantly slow to catch up to where my feelings were for her and whether it's age or just a place where we were both at in our lives. I am 33 years old, ready and determined to find my wife and raise a family, and I think she's at a place in her life where she is still a little uncertain as to what she's looking for."
