Television crew members in California said they are picketing NBC reality show "Fashion Star" due to lack of a pension and health benefits. The Saturday strike resulted in the shutdown of production on the reality television show, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees union said the strike has nothing to do with wage rates. "We're on strike against this show until we have a contract," said IATSE official Vanessa Holtgrew. "A big, successful prime time show like this -- I don't see why they shouldn't be union. I hope we get a contract for these folks so they can get their health and pension, and go back to making their show." More than 70 crew members picketed at Hollywood Center Studios and near the Arclight Theatre.
