The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) on Thursday wound up the Ninth Summer Cultural Festival with a traditional musical soiree performed by the Kuwait TV Troupe on theater of Kuwait National Museum .
The Troupe, formed in 1978 as the first national band to offer the Kuwaiti folklore, thrilled the audience with some of its best songs.
NCCAL Assistant Secretary-General Badr Al-Duwaish told reporters that the audience had enjoyed various cultural and artistic events, which have made of the festival a distinguished occasion people wait for annually.
The festival, which started on August 24, included book fairs, cultural workshops and socially-orientated lectures, Al-Duwaish added. It also sought to encourage junior writers.
This year, the festival included several concerts, and plays, local, Arab and international in addition to Lebanese cinema nights.
