Regis Philbin is joining the Today show as a contributor to the program's fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.
"Regis brings his legendary charm and humor each time he visits Today," Tammy Filler, the show's co-executive producer, said in a statement Thursday. "His energy is infectious, and when Regis is around, you never know what will happen."
Philbin and Gifford hosted Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee from 1985 to 2000. Philbin has made multiple appearances on Today in recent months.
Philbin, 83, served as host of Live! for nearly three decades -- until 2011 -- and earned 24 Daytime Emmy nominations, with six wins and a Lifetime Achievement Award. He also served as the emcee of the game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
