
Bahrain has recently celebrated the World Social Media Day, to coincide with approximately 1900 festivals had been held around the world on the same occasion. Bahrain's festivals have been placed among top ten celebrations in the world, along with Egypt and some European countries and the United States of America, according to Mashable site, which launched the idea of celebrating the event around the world.
World Social Media Club, on the occasion which was held at Al-Areen palace, organized a Ramadan evening with the participation of more than 100 of its members and partners.
During the evening a number of activities were held, including a Fotoor banquet, contests and prizes, which ignited the attendees' enthusiasm. In addition to honoring 13 Bahraini blogs which have had won the awards of the World Social Media Day.
Topics of the honored blogs encompassed technology, travel, photography, media, digital marketing, global affairs, sport, cooking, restaurants, information technology, fashion and other topics. The honored blogs were named according to specific criteria developed by a jury panel comprised representatives of World Social Media Club of UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan.
World Social Media Club Chairman, Ali Sabkar, underscored the importance of Bahrain's participation in the event that highlights Bahrain's social media status internationally.
