Dubai Municipality has launched a unique initiative called ‘Happy Dubai' with the aim of providing everyone with the opportunity to express their happiness about the services rendered by the civic body.
Announcing the initiative, Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of the Dubai Municipality, said it is launching the initiative under the name #HAPPYDUBAI to focus all eyes on Dubai in a unique and innovative way.
"The initiative is designed to highlight the services provided by the municipality, along with a creatively technical touch, with the aim of attracting attention to Dubai from all over the world," he said.
"Various initiatives and the projects adopted and executed by Dubai Municipality in different fields give the emirate its unique style which makes it stand out among the most developed cities in the world. The U.A.E. has been ranked 14th in the happiness index set by the Global Initiative of the United Nations. Our goal is to spread happiness among the population of United Arab Emirates and by 2021, Dubai would like to be one of the top ten happiest cities," he explained.
He also said the emirate was rated the best among six cities in holding festivals and events.
Lootah continued, "Dubai Municipality is committed to the concept of sustainable happiness of the citizens, residents and visitors. Most important services we provide are the provision of public parks, beaches and public facilities, waste management services and quality control of food distributed in the city.
"We want to continue this initiative through social media, involving residents of Dubai, and urge all residents to actively participate in this campaign as they have been doing with every campaign launched by the civic body. To join the initiative, participants can follow us on #HAPPYDUBAI or share DM's tweets on their page with their valuable comments and happiest moments related to our services," he added.
