At least 25 school children were injured, some seriously, in a road mishap in the western Indian state of Rajasthan on Monday, a senior police official said.
"The incident happened when a jeep in which the victims were traveling turned turtle near Malwa village in the state's Barmer district. The victims were all on their way to their school when the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle," he said, on condition of anonymity.
All the school children were rushed to a nearby hospital where the condition of some are said to be serious, the official said.
A probe has been ordered into the incident, he said, adding that a manhunt has also been launched to track down the driver who has been absconding.
