The university also offers several new Ph.D. specialisations in engineering, including Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, Biomedical and Robotics. Emirati graduate students also enjoy the benefits of the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholarship Programme, Buhooth, which offers students competitive monthly salaries for full time students, health insurance for students and their dependents, covers all tuition fees, study expenses, international conference attendance expenses and provides job placement after graduation. The programme began in October 2007 and it enrolls over 25 Emirati students. Khalifa University also offers an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering. Students graduating with this major will have many opportunities to work in several exciting industries in the U.A.E. and around the world, including engineering and construction firms, transport departments, environmental agencies, urban planning councils, the oil and gas industry and the police and armed forces. Dr. Arif Al Hammadi, Executive Vice President of Khalifa University, said, "Khalifa University strives to attract the best talents in the U.A.E. to join the university as students and researchers. Our participation at Najah Exhibition aims to provide students with an opportunity to review our academic, research and scholarship programmes. We are also recruiting exceptional Emirati students to enroll in Master's and Ph.D. programmes and work at research centres hosted at the University, such as the Etisalat-BT Innovation Centre (EBTIC), Aerospace Research Centre and Semiconductor Research Centre." All students at Khalifa University enjoy a number of benefits including having access to world-class research centres and free laptops. Students are offered several educational opportunities in science and technology related fields, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
