A woman has been arrested in the death of her former husband more than 30 years ago, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation Cold Case Team said. The team said Alice Louise Uden, 74, of Chadwick, Mo., was arrested for first-degree murder brought by the Laramie County prosecutor's office in the death her ex-husband, Ronald Holtz, who was 25 years old when he disappeared in late 1974 or early 1975. Ms. Uden, arrested Thursday, was jailed in Christian County, Mo., pending extradition to Wyoming, the cold case team said in a release. On Friday, Gerald Uden, 71, the husband of Alice Uden, also was arrested on three counts of first-degree murder brought by the Fremont County, Wyo., prosecutor's office, the team said. Gerald Uden is charged with the deaths of his ex-wife, Virginia Uden, and her two children, Richard and Reagan, who disappeared in September 1980. Gerald Uden also is in the Christian County jail pending extradition to Wyoming. Holtz, a U.S. Army veteran, disappeared in late 1974 or early 1975, the team said. A recent search of an abandoned mine in Laramie County, Wyo., recovered skeletal remains that were identified as Holtz. In September 1980, Virginia Uden and her two sons were reported missing. KOLR-TV, Springfield, Mo., said they haven't been found. In the past 33 years, numerous agencies worked on the two investigations, including the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Laramie and Fremont counties' sheriffs' and prosecutors' offices, the FBI, the Wyoming National Guard and the University of Wyoming's Anthropology Department.
