5 girls banned from traveling after 3 left for Syria

Five young girls were banned from traveling abroad by a judge at a local court after finding them interested in going to Syria, local media reported Friday.
Two 15-year-old and three 16-year-old girls were made wards of court, and their passports have been removed for banning them from leaving England and Wales, BBC reported.
Mr Justice Hayden at London's High Court said the girls were not identified, and passports of a number of adults who involved in those girl's care have also been removed.
He said that evidence showed that family members involved in the case had not been full and frank with social services, resulting in girls becoming more radicalised.
"It seems to me that that must have been known to the parents and they deliberately did not share it with the authorities who were keen to protect these vulnerable young girls," the judge said.
Three teenage girls were believed to travel to Syria last month. One of those three girls used the passport of her elder sister, local police said.
