Psychiatry Professor in Al Azhar University Adel Madany said that women are the highest segment of society exposed to violence.
About 96 percent of violence is directed against women in the world.
These remarks came during a three-day workshop held by the complaints office of the National Council for Women (NCW) on Sunday.
Madany said the workshop discusses violence practised against women, its types, impact as well as right means of dealing with its victims.
