
Nineveh Provincial Council, selected Bashar al-Kiki, from / brotherhood and coexistence / list as council's President. The vote on Kiki was in the first meeting of the new provincial council under the leadership of the oldest members, Dahwi Swayb, under the supervision of the President of the Appeal Court, Judge Salem Bedrani, and with the presence of all members with the exception of only two members. It is mentioned that Bashar al-Kiki got 29 votes, while his rival, Abdul Rahim Al Shammari from the list of / Nineveh United / headed by Abdul Hamidi al-Yawar got six votes.
