
Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), has met Fazle Rabbi, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Bangladesh, at the headquarters of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Al Qubaisi thanked Bangladeshi for backing the UAE's request for the inclusion of an emergency item in the agenda of the 133rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union titled, "Strengthening the role of parliamentarians in the effective implementation of the principles of international humanitarian law and international conventions on the protection of refugees".
She stressed the importance of boosting parliamentary relations between the houses in the two countries.
With regards to the UAE's islands occupied by Iran, Al Qubaisi said the UAE was seeking to settle the issue by peaceful means.
On that issue, Rabbi underscored that Bangladesh always stands with the right and for justice.
He also expressed the hope that the UAE would increase the intake of the Bangladeshi workforce.
