
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, has extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) for bestowing Her Highness’s Award for Bahraini Women Empowerment on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in recognition of its role as the second best official institution in supporting and empowering working women.
The Minister has also paid tribute to HRH Princess Sabeeka for her tireless efforts in empowering women and propelling them to high leadership, executive and decision-making positions, beside the many international positions where Bahraini women demonstrated stunning success and eye-catching distinction.
He said " HRH Princess Sabeeka has done a lot in improving women’s situation on a scientific basis and through creative initiatives, programmes and qualitative projects that have had a great positive impact on women empowerment in all domains and made of them an influential development factor and a significant pivot of the growth and advancement the Kingdom of Bahrain is currently undergoing.
He affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs deserved the award for its firm belief in women’s huge capabilities and diverse skills and for its incessant efforts in empowering women and providing a suitable work environment to exhibit their capabilities and potential in moving forward with diplomatic work.
He asserted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would remain an incubator for women in all departments and always keen to improve women’s status, meet their needs and provide them with whatever could raise professional competence and scientific capabilities, while looking forward to occupy the first position in future awards.
