Afra Al Basti, Director-General of DFWAC, commenting on the results of the campaign, said, “Raising awareness and educating the community about domestic violence and child abuse is one of the most important goals of the organisation, and it would pave the way to protect our children and women from these extraneous phenomena.
“DFWAC is working to educate all groups, especially school and college students who are the nucleus of society, to protect them from exposure to abuse and ensure their development in an environment that is safe and stable, as well as the transfer of expertise and experience in this regard to their children in the future.
“DFWAC will continue its efforts in the field of community awareness by targeting new segments of the society through awareness campaigns, in conjunction with the process of the ongoing development of accommodation services, care and rehabilitation,” she added.
Among the most prominent awareness campaigns that have been implemented during the current year is the Childhood Protection Campaign, which is part of DFWAC’s plan to raise community awareness and enable families to take the necessary action to reduce all forms of child abuse, as well as the workshop “You Are A Princess” that targeted 700 female students from the fourth and fifth grades.
