Participants in an international forum over woman, media and challenges discussed Monday woman's image in media. Woman in media is shown as a "photo not as a role player. the Arab woman is the most marginalized element although she is the most appeared on TV screens, " said Kuwaiti female journalist Saadiya Al-Mufarreh, during a session of the forum. She said satellite channels were recruiting women as presenters, citing that Arab women were also working as reporters in conflict zones. "Woman should have her own media corner which should be the contact point with others as well as being the tool to deal with her issues and problems, with the objective of eliminating media negligence she has long suffered from, " Al-Mufarreh said. Omani female journalist Dr. Aisha said talk shows were successful in conveying a certain message to viewers, and played a key role in formulating a specific public opinion. The forum includes sessions and workshops dealing with all aspects related to woman.
