Israel has refused to let a Gaza woman travel to the West Bank to take care of her mother who suffers from advanced cancer only because the medical report included the words ”State of Palestine”, reports Haaretz. The woman from Gaza applied for a permission to visit her sick mother in the middle of december. After sending the medical report three times and after going through security checks her request was denied without giving any reason for the decision.Later she learned that her application couldn’t be dealt with because the medical report was issued by the ”State of Palestine, Minestry of Health” and that in order to proceed the application she had to send a medical report from the ”Palestinian Authority”.After receiving additional documents the Israeli administration has decided to reconsider the request and a new decision will be made.Since the Israeli blockade of Gaza started it has been very difficult for Palestinians to travel to and from the Gaza strip. The Israeli Governement only give Palestinians permission to exit or enter Gaza if a first degree relative dies, gets married or falls seriously ill.
