Julia Collins, a 31-year-old supply chain consultant from Wilmette, Ill., has made Jeopardy history.
On Wednesday, she won her 18th straight game, becoming the most successful female contestant in the show's long history.
When Collins won her 19th game on Thursday, she tied former contestant David Madden for second place on Jeopardy's all-time consecutive non-tournament win list. Powerhouse contestant Ken Jennings won a whopping 74 games.
Collins, who can count more than $400,000 in winnings, told the Sun-Times that her Jeopardy experience has been "so exciting."
"Whether I win or lose tomorrow, it's been incredible," she said of Friday's game. "Sure, you want to hit that marker. But every game, I want to win because I want to keep playing. The best part about Jeopardy is getting to play Jeopardy."
Collins holds degrees from both Wellesley College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She wrote in her eighth grade yearbook that she would become a "Ten Time Jeopardy Champion."
