
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputised today Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), to patronise a celebration marking Bahrain Women's Day 2014 held at Shaikh Isa Royal Military College.
Personal Representative of HM the King Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa also attended the event which is held under the theme "Military Women". HRH Princess Sabeeka stressed the importance of the event as an opportunity to shed light on Bahraini women's achievements in all fields thanks to the support of HM the King.
She also urged public and private institutions to avail of the occasion to highlight the role of Bahraini women in building the nation and preserving its hard-won gains. She thanked Bahrain Defence Force and the Interior Ministry for their efforts in honouring Bahraini women and spotlighting their contributions in the military field.
She said celebrating this year Bahraini women's accomplishments in the military field is a tribute to them for 40 years of achievements and dedication to serving the nation and protecting it side by side with men. She underlined the need to preserve those gains brought about by the royal reform project of HM the King.
HRH Princess Sabeeka watched a military parade by BDF and the Interior Ministry as well as other military shows performed by military women. She honoured veteran military women in tribute for their remarkable efforts in the military field.
