
Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, Head of the U.A.E. Committee for the Coordination of Humanitarian Foreign Aid, and President of Zayed University, on Wednesday received the visiting Vice-President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Panama, Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, at the university in Abu Dhabi.
During their meeting, the two sides discussed the cooperation relations and partnership between the U.A.E. and Panama on international development.
In her remarks at the meeting, Sheikha Lubna reiterated the U.A.E.'s keen interest in enhancing its relations with Panama and exploring mutually beneficial opportunities.
She also noted the importance of creating a common vision to enhance the mechanisms of international development.
Sheikha Lubna also hailed the Panama government's efforts to develop the country's economy and accelerate development rates, in the area of human development in particular.
On her part, Ms Alvarado stressed that Panama looks forward to promoting its relations and partnership with the U.A.E. which, she noted, has achieved a notable stature in the Middle East region, is seeing growth at increasing rates in all development sectors, and is now at the forefront of international development helping developing countries to elevate their standards of living.
The Panamanian senior official also noted that the U.A.E. managed to strike a balance between national development and international development.
Hazza Al Qahtani, Under Secretary of the U.A.E. Ministry of International Cooperation and Development (Micad), and Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Under Secretary of Micad for International Development, attended the meeting.
