Egyptian Minister of Insurance and Social Affairs Najwa Khalil who is also the president of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) for woman issues-related ministers said that the Arab Spring has changed the typical image associated with the Arab women and has proved them as established callers for freedom and dignity. "The Arab woman is living her own spring, and is one of the contributors and effective members in realizing it," Khalil told Qatar News Agency QNA. Khalil said that women have contributed one way or another to the Arab revolutions, and that women contributed greatly to the changes that resulted from these revolutions. Khalil said that it was the Arab woman who brought up the youth who were capable of expressing themselves in a rational and democratic way, and it was Arab woman who took to the streets as well. On the sidelines of NAM''s ministerial meeting on the advancement of women, Khalil added that the Arab woman was and still is a great performer on many levels especially education where she led literacy and anti-school dropout initiatives. She stressed the role of education in the formation of mature awareness and making the right choices that helps achieve the development and advancement of the Arab world. Khalil praised the progress and advancement the Qatari women have achieved. "The Qatari society has achieved many breakthroughs and quality moves. She expressed hope that all Arab societies would cooperate in order to achieve further progress so that the Arab world would overcome any ordeal .
