The province of Batna is hosting Monday the official celebrations of the National Student Day, in presence of Minister of Mujahideen, Tayeb Zitouni, and General Secretary of the National Mujahideen Organization (ONM), Saïd Abadou. This celebration has been marked by a message of President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, read on his behalf by adviser, Mohamed-Ali Boughazi, during a meeting organized in Hadj-Lakhdar University of Batna. A message in which the Head of the State has notably said that by celebrating this date, "Algeria voices attachment and deep respect to the collective memory, built shaped by its children, through all generations." "Faithful as we are to the oath of chouhada (Martyrs), we want to highlight the attachment of the Algerians to their country and their concern to preserve its unity, cohesion, dignity and its pride," President of the Republic added. The official delegation to the celebration had earlier laid, at Martyrs Square, a wreath of flowers and read Fatiha of the Koran, out of homage to the Revolution martyrs. Minister of Mujahideen went to new university center of Fesdis (10km) to lay the foundation stone of a central restaurant of 8,000 seats and a set of 1,500 educational places for Veterinary Science institutes (500 seats) and architecture (1000). The celebration of the National Student Day will end in the afternoon in the town Arris, with a visit to martyr Mostefa BenBoulaid’s house transformed into a museum.
