
Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), received at the SCW premises here today the Director-General of the Arab Women Organisation (AWO) Ambassador Mervat Tellawy, currently on a visit to the kingdom.
HRH Princess Sabeeka lauded the role of the AWO in enhancing solidarity among Arab women, describing it as a cornerstone of Arab cooperation through coordinating joint Arab stances on regional and international issues.
She also praised AWO's role in raising awareness on Arab women's issues, in the economic, social, cultural, legal and media fields.
Ambassador Mervat Tellawy lauded the key role played by HRH Princess Sabeeka, as one of the AWO founders, in supporting AWO since its establishment.
She affirmed the importance of the Kingdom's role in supporting all Arab women issues, which, she said, contributed to upgrading AWO's work despite the challenges faced by the Arab Nation over the past few years.
AWO Director-General also praised the achievements of the Bahraini women in all fields, especially the military one.
