Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) issued an apology to Egyptian women for the recent abuses against them during demonstrations near the Council of Ministersand the Parliament, stressing its respect and full appreciation of Egyptian women and their right to demonstration and participation in the political life. SCAF said in a Facebook statement that all measures have been taken to hold the culprits accountable. "These critical moments in the history of Egypt require cohesion and solidarity from all of us, renouncing violence and disputes of all kinds, and allowing ourselves a chance to restore calmness for some time in order to identify infiltrated paid thugs who aren''t only trying to do damage and destruction but also to defame revolutionaries and Egyptian youth," the statement added. SCAF called for completing the democratic process and ending the third round of parliamentary elections according to schedule in order to realize stability. SCAF also announced its readiness to discuss any initiative from political forces that would help contribute to Egypt''s stability and security, which is the responsibility of every Egyptian citizen.
