
HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women's Union (GWU), and President of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), has received Queen Noor Hussein, Founder and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Foundation, and discussed with her a range of issues concerning women and ways of boosting joint cooperation between the two organisations. Queen Noor praised the role HH Sheikha Fatima is playing to develop and empower U.A.E. women, her support for other women's organisations in the U.A.E. as well as her many initiatives to take care of childhood, motherhood and child's upbringing and to promote education and culture within the U.A.E. and abroad. She also lauded the advanced level the U.A.E. women have reached in work thanks to Sheikha Fatima's determination, hard work and giving. Queen Noor was briefed on programmes and initiatives launched by GWU, FDF and Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood to support women and children, besides other technological and knowledge programmes to educate and empower women so as to serve the local community.
