A Sudanese women’s charity has held a series of workshops in the Nubian mountains to discuss peacebuilding inside the country. The charity, in conjunction with Sudan’s ruling National Congress Party [NCP], held the event under the supervision of Vice President Samia Ahmed Mohammed. Classes reportedly aimed to foster peace, strengthening internal ties within Sudan, whilst recommending a “transparent and active dialogue” between political groups. Following the NCP workshops, attendees recommended the training of mothers in family affairs and developing Sudanese women’s socio-economic role within society. Psychological and legal counselling centres were also called for, particularly in South Kordofan.
