Amna Nouman, from the Dubai Chess and Culture Club, and winner of the 2014 Arab Chess Championship which was held in Jordan, has praised the club's Board of Directors and coaching staff for their support and positive outlook, which takes into account the interests of its players in both their athletic and academic goals.
Ms. Nouman, who is an engineering student at the University of Sharjah, reiterated her dedication to the sport, saying that with the support and coordination she receives from her coach, her studies will not hinder her from representing the U.A.E. in future chess tournaments, nor will it get in the way of training for the sport.
The Chess Champion won a gold medal for the individual championship in the Arab group category in Jordan, a silver in the U.A.E. Championship for 18-year-olds, both of which she won this year, and a gold for the Arab under-20 championship, which was held in Jordan in 2013.
