The UAE apex court has sentenced a woman employer to three years in jail for torturing her housemaid. According to an 'Emarat Al Youm' report, the court upheld the verdict by Appeals Court after studying forensic evidence, which proved that the domestic help was suffering from 15 per cent permanent disability because of broken ribs. The accused housewife admitted that she hit the victim three times and refused to take her to a hospital. However, the maid clamed that she was regularly beaten with electric wires and shoes and even kicked. She alleged that the accused poured hot water over her, sprayed pepper powder into her eyes and burnt her with an iron box. Medical reports confirm that the domestic help has five broken ribs on her right side and three on the left. Decomposed body of woman found hanging A young woman's decomposed body was found hanging semi-nude in a building in Mahalla Al-Kubra area in Egypt. 'Al Youm Al Sabea'a' newspaper reported that the deceased was a 21-year-old housewife - a resident of Chikara area of Al Absheet Village - who was reported missing by her family a week back. The police was alerted by a cleaner who found the body while on duty at the building. The body had bruises on the face and neck as well as traces of blood. Fingerprints have been collected and the body tansferred to the forensic department while investigations are on to solve the case.
