The US on Monday "strongly condemned" the targeting of an Afghan member of parliament in a car bombing one day earlier in Kabul.
The MP, Shukria Barakzai, sustained "small injuries," according to an Interior Ministry spokesperson.
Three people were killed and 17 others were injured, local reports said.
"We offer our sincere condolences to those affected by the attack, and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families," said Jeff Rathke, director of the US State Department's Press Relations office.
"At this time, we're not aware of claims of responsibility, but that does not diminish in any way our strong condemnation of the attack," said Rathke.
