The All-China Women's Federation on Wednesday sent a letter of congratulations to Wang Yaping, the only female astronaut to participate in the Shenzhou-10 manned space mission, following the mission's successful completion. The letter will be presented to Wang by the General Armament Department of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), according to the federation. Wang was one of three crew members of the Shenzhou-10 spacecraft, which docked with the orbiting space lab Tiangong-1 twice during in its 15-day journey in space. The Shenzhou-10's re-entry capsule landed safely in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Wednesday morning. During the mission, Wang gave the nation's first "space lecture" during a live broadcast from the Tiangong-1. The letter said Wang's achievements have greatly inspired Chinese women. Wang is China's second female astronaut after Liu Yang, who took part in the Shenzhou-9 space mission in June last year. The letter said both astronauts have contributed to the development of China's manned space program through their arduousness, endeavors and dedication. The federation urged all women to learn from the astronauts and contribute to the realization of the "Chinese dream."
