
Moroccan grassroots activist, Fatima Khouchoua won the humanitarian of the year award in Africa given by British NGO “Women 4 Africa”. Khouchoua, founder of “Giving Chances”, an NGO which supports education projects in Morocco, was nominated along with three other African activists (two from Nigeria and one from Sierra Leone). According to “Women 4 Africa”, the Moroccan candidate has led significant projects and efforts to increase enrollment and reading in schools in disadvantaged areas. Source: MAP
