This is an update of a deal I posted last year. Google TV: doomed product or stealth Apple TV/Roku competitor? Probably the former, given that the set-top box never really caught on, even after Logitech slashed the price from $299 to $99. And now it's even less. Newegg has the refurbished Logitech Revue With Google TV for $73.99 shipped. That's the lowest price I've seen on this Internet-meets-TV appliance. Doomed? Maybe. Deal? Definitely! In case you're not familiar with the Revue, it goes above and beyond Apple TV- and Roku-style media streaming by offering apps, a Web browser, and a keyboard. When it first debuted about 18 months ago, the Revue was dinged for lacking support for major content providers like Hulu, and for its very limited selection of apps. It's still fairly weak on the content front, with Netflix and Pandora the only noteworthy media sources. However, Google doesn't seem to be giving up on Google TV. Late last year, the company rolled out its Honeycomb (Android 3.2) update, which affords access to apps via Google Play, and as recently as last month, it overhauled the TV & Movies section. So the Revue might be a compelling choice for people who like to tinker, who like their set-top boxes hackable and expandable. Plus, it's already a pretty good way to stream Netflix, Pandora, and your own media libraries. If you already own a Revue, hit the comments and let your fellow cheeps know if you think it's a worthwhile buy at $74. Bonus deal: Looking for a seriously loaded tablet? Today only, and while supplies last, Daily Steals has the refurbished unlocked Motorola Xoom 10.1-inch Wi-Fi/3G tablet for $269.99, plus $4.99 for shipping. It features 32GB of storage, compatibility with any GSM network, and Android 3.0 -- with an update to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) now available. Check out CNET's review.
