Apple announced it will take back all used Apple products for recycling free of charge lately. The Apple’s new initiative as part of an eco-friendly push was timed to coincide with Tuesday’s annual celebration of Earth Day. Apple vows to power all of its stores, offices and data centers with renewable energy to cut down on the pollution caused by its manufacture and use of the company’s devices. Apple has already been distributing gift cards for devices that are in good enough condition to be resold on the open market. While it won’t be offering gift cards in exchange for recycled products deemed to have little or no resale value, the free recycling is meant to keep electronics out of landfills.
