
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Scientific Research Award's contest started Wednesday at the University of Jordan. "The award is a reward to the outstanding researchers whose researches added new knowledge that serves the society," President of University of Jordan Prof. Ekhleif Tarawneh told KUNA. "It shows Kuwait's interest in supporting science and culture in the Arab World." He pointed out that the Award contest in coincidence with the Fifth Refereed Theses and Dissertations Conference, organized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and the Deanship of Scientific Research at the University of Jordan on April 16 and 17. Tarawneh noted that the conference is sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Sabah's Award association. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Scientific Research Award will be given to six researchers with the best masters and doctoral researches. Researches themes include literature, social sciences, international and women studies; finance, management and economics; education, sports and arts; legal and Islamic studies, in addition to basic sciences, engineering and information technology; health; agriculture, environment, water and energy. "The aim of the Award is to reward the outstanding researchers and to encourage distinguished academic research as a part of Kuwait's effort help spread knowledge and develop human resources," Kuwait's Cultural Attach?© in Amman told KUNA.
