Myanmar will launch ICT exhibition, New Year IT and Mobile Fair 2012 early next year with an aim to develop the ICT and improve people's socio-economic life through ICT, the exhibition circle said on Monday. The exhibition is scheduled to be held at Tatmadaw Hall from Jan.13 to 15 next year. With 147 booths, a total of 53 companies in the country will display the latest computer-related items, mobiles and electronic equipment, communication devices and books on IT technology. The exhibition, organized by the Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF), has been launched since 1999 to showcase Myanmar's progress in ICT and enable the youths in the country to keep up with the latest technology around the world. According to official statistics, internet users in Myanmar had reached 380,000 as of March 2011. In December 2007, Myanmar's first largest ICT park, also known as the Yatanarpon Cyber City, was introduced in Pyin Oo Lwin.
