
Samsung Electronics, the world's largest smartphone maker, said Wednesday that it has launched the world's first curved display smartphone, which will be available in the domestic market this week. The Galaxy Round was applied with curved display technology of Samsung, which made the first smartphone with a flexible display panel, the company said in a statement. The latest version of Samsung's Galaxy devices features a 5.7- inch full HD Super AMOLED display, the same size of the Galaxy Note3. It was 7.9 mm thick and weighs 154 grams. The Galaxy device would be available in the local market through the country's top mobile operator SK Telecom starting from Thursday. It would be sold with a retail price of 1.08 million won (1,000 US dollars).
