The Saudi Credit and Savings Bank said yesterday that it would finance viable tourism projects of young Saudi men and women. “Investment in the tourism sector will create more job opportunities for Saudis,” said the bank’s spokesman Ahmed Al-Jibrin. He said the bank’s move would strengthen the Kingdom’s tourism sector and support investment initiatives of Saudi male and female entrepreneurs. “It will also lead to preserving the Kingdom’s heritage by developing heritage villages,” he said. Jibrin said the bank has already provided financial support worth SR 14 million for the development of Rijal Al-Mae village west of Asir and Alghat village north of Riyadh. “Rijal Al-Mae and Alghat are important heritage sites in the Kingdom,” he pointed out. The spokesman emphasized the bank’s desire to improve its services being extended to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with the support of an international consultancy firm. SMEs play a big role in the Kingdom’s economic growth, he said. From : Arabnews
