
Environment Minister Khaled Fahmi met on Monday with a delegation of the World Bank.
The meeting took up main projects to protect environment in Egypt.
They also discussed the implementation of an agreement signed between Cairo and the bank on August 26 to fight pollution in Lake Mariyout.
Talks tackled as well future cooperation in such areas as green development, the national strategy for sustainable development, establishing an economic surveys and support unit to serve energy efficiency programs, cleaning up Cairo's polluted atmosphere in addition to programs to combat industrial pollution, usage of solid and agricultural waste as an alternative source of energy and application of Green Industry concepts in small- and medium-sized industries.
