
Authorities in Giza have arrested a gang suspected of stealing Egyptian Central Bank Governor Hisham Ramez's car, killing his security guard in the process. The investigation confirmed that the four defendants had formed a gang specialised in stealing luxury vehicles, bargaining with their owners for money and then returning them for a ransom. According to a press statement, the suspects were arrested in ??Kafr Tohormos in Bulaq Dakrour. Security forces apprehended three automatic rifles and two cars, including the Governor’s own vehicle. Giza authorities have reportedly examined profiles of 250 other registered criminals in their search for the perpetrators.
