
Antiquities Minister Mohammed Ibrahim signed on Sunday a memorandum of understanding with Misr Bank President Mohammed Barakat for cooperation in museum education. Under the memo, the bank will contribute by a sum of 12 million EGP to build a department for museum studies in the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), currently under construction. "This department will be one of the most important components of GEM's third phase," said Ibrahim. The minister also praised the role of the bank in societal participation and its efforts in the development programs. For his part, Barakat said that all parties should cooperate to support such big project which will house the biggest number of Egyptian antiquities.
