Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB), in co-operation with the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA), has begun activating the electronic linkage system (e-link) by using national ID cards when conducting any transactions with its clients throughout all its branches and offices across the country. With this new initiative, the SIB is one of the first banking institutions across the country to implement the smart ID card applications in all its customer transactions made on a daily basis, which will be introduced by the use of smart reading devices, providing accurate data and required information of individuals once inserting the ID card. The application of the e-link system, which helps save time, effort and money, comes as part of the bank’s endeavor to boost the culture of customers and raise their awareness about the importance of the use of ID card due to its accurate information and data, thus reflecting the country’s civilised image and resilient procedures followed in its various transactions.
