
Crude oil prices held above $103 per barrel Tuesday morning with the dollar mixed in Asia and Europe and equities split. Ahead of Wall Street's opening, stock markets were higher in Asia and lower in Europe as the patrial U.S. government shutdown completed its first week. The price of West Texas Intermediate sweet, light crude oil added 63 cents overnight or 0.61 percent, to $103.66 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices added 2.34 cents to $2.6495 per gallon. Home heating oil gained 2.16 cents to $3.0309 per gallon. Natural gas added 4 cents to reach $3.67 per million British thermal units. At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline rose to $3.349 per gallon from Monday's $3.346, AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report said.
