All necessary procedures and precautions are still undergoing to deal with the gas leakage incident that took place in an oil well drilling operation in Al-Rawdhatain oil field, north of the country, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) announced on Sunday. KOC's press release stressed that all oil facilities are back to their normal activities and that the concentration of Hydrogen Sulfide in the air is zero. Even though the air is safe yet the press release noted that KOC will conduct two readings a day to record the chemical compound's concentration in air, especially in Kuwait City, Shuwaikh, Jahra, Hadiya, Fahaheel, Mangaf, Fintas, Egaila, Subiya, Surra, Salmiya and Riggah areas. KOC is carrying out two approaches to put out the burning oil: one by snuffing the flame out and capping the wellhead to stop the flow of oil; the second approach is to drill a nearby subsidiary well to control the source of the fire. The press release stressed that all efforts are exerted to ensured public's health safety and security.
