The Anti-Extremism Centre of the Krasnodar territorial police department jointly with the territorial Federal Security Service department detained two suspects in the explosions of the main gas pipelines, building and special machinery, the press centre of the Russian Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. “The suspects gave the confessing testimony that they have made, planted and detonated an explosive device on the mainline of a gas pipeline in southern Russia on December 25, 2012,” the press centre reported. “Meanwhile, the detainees confessed in similar crimes, which they committed in 2007 and 2012,” the press centre said. “The detectives also found that from 1992 to 2007 the suspects repeatedly committed the explosions and destroyed over 20 units of building machinery and two derricks,” the press centre reported. In the searches at the residence place of the detainees and the caches, which they planted, a large amount of components for making explosive devices and the special literature about the synthesis of explosive substances was confiscated. “Further search and investigating measures are being taken to expose more episodes of their illegal activities,” the press centre said. One of the suspects has five convictions for similar crimes. “From 1988 to 1992 he committed about 11 arsons of building machinery of domestic and foreign production,” the press centre of the Russian Interior Ministry reported.
