Iran’s gas production has reached a record 641 million cubic meters a day, a senior official of the National Iranian Oil Company said. Amir-Masoud Jabbari-Rad, director for oil and gas production of NIOC, said the state-run company has exhausted its capacities to increase gas production to meet the growing demand due to cold snap. He told Shana that the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) is currently producing 304 mcm/d and Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) is supplying 302 mcm/d. He added that these two companies respectively account for 47.4 and 47.1 percent of the country’s total gas production. Jabbari-Rad also said that nearly 33 mcm/d of gas is produced from associated gases in National Iranian South Oil Company-run regions. The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) is also producing 2 mcm/d of gas. Their shares in the country’s gas production are 5.2 and 0.3 percent respectively. Jabbari-Rad said gas consumption in the country exceeded 570 mcm/d in recent days, 10 mcm/d higher than a year ago.
