
Iran exported $4.841 billion of petrochemical products in the first 6 months of the current Iranian calendar year (which began on 21 March 2013). According to the data released by the oil ministry's website, during the mentioned period gas condensate and petrochemical products accounted for respectively 3.385 and 4.841 billion dollars worth of exports, while the value of other non-oil exports hit 9.746 billion dollars. The total value of non-oil trade stood at 37.907 billion dollars of which 17. 972 billion dollars were exported and 19.935 billion were imported. The figures indicate that the value of non-oil exports, including gas condensate, and imported items have dipped by 13.59 percent and 25.4 percent respectively. Meanwhile the weight of exports and imports hit 41.659 million and 13.241 million tons, respectively, meaning that the weight of non-oil exports was up by 9.41 percent, while the weight of imports was down by 31.26 percent against the similar period last year.
