Price of Kuwaiti crude oil was up 18 cents on Friday to trade at USD 109.12 per barrel (pb), up from last Thursday's USD 108.94 pb, said Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) on Saturday. The hike of crude prices yesterday came after official US reports revealed drasting fall of unemployment, thus refreshing hopes of prospected hike of demand for the crude. The oil prices, at the end of the week, posted best performance since midddle of October, despite fears caused by escalation of disputes between Iran and western powers over Tehran's nuclear issue. They noticeably increased, during the week, due to drastic fall of rate of the US dollar, after several major banks declared coordinated plans to inject liquidity into the global markets to taper off tensions.
